Teacher Candidate Correspondence Groups -

(Year 1 Consecutive & Year 5 Concurrent)

With the program taking a virtual delivery, it can be difficult to meet other teacher candidates in the program. TCAC would like to provide the opportunity to arrange teacher candidates into small groups (approximately 10) who are in the same division (P/J, J/I, or I/S). Once groups are established, teacher candidates will select how they would like to communicate with each other (i.e. text, Facebook messenger). To keep the conversation flowing, each month, TCAC will provide a few prompt questions to the groups. If interested, please read more and fill out the form by September 21, 2020, at 4:00 pm. The Google Form can be found within the Welcome Message sent to your NU email address on September 15, 2020.

Peer Tutoring - Volunteer Opportunity

Do you have a strong mathematics or literacy background or related teachable(s)? If so, TCAC will be organizing peer tutoring. Teacher candidates will help other teacher candidates become more confident in mathematics, especially in preparation for the Mathematics Proficiency Test, and general writing and grammar skills. Volunteer hours will be recorded and as a result, tutors may be eligible to receive a letter of recommendation from the Director of Education. If you are interested in the opportunity to help your fellow teacher candidates while practising tutoring others, please submit the corresponding Google Form within the Welcome Message sent to your NU email address on September 15, 2020.

More information about the logistics of the peer tutoring program will be shared with interested individuals after interest is collected. You may decline interest at any time throughout the program.
